The VERDEinMED project (PreVEnting and ReDucing the tExtiles waste mountain in the MED area) is entering a new transfer phase within the framework of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, following the development and testing of solutions during the previous phase of the project.
The main objective of this new phase is to transfer, adapt and facilitate the adoption of the Support Service developed by VERDEinMED in new Mediterranean territories and organisations, strengthening the capacities of stakeholders involved in the transition towards a circular economy in the textile sector.
The Support Service is a solution designed to support companies, SMEs, start-ups, technology centres, consumers and policymakers in adopting more circular practices and developing policies based on evidence and local needs.
During this phase, the project will focus particularly on three areas of transfer: policy and governance, operational capacity and market readiness, adapting the solution to the specific characteristics and needs of each recipient territory.
One area of particular interest will be Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the textile sector, which will serve as a use case to analyse and demonstrate how the Support Service can be adapted to different regulatory and territorial frameworks.
The role of CREC
The Clúster de Residus de Catalunya (CREC) participates in VERDEinMED as a receiver partner of the solution and plays a particularly relevant role in its transfer and adaptation to Catalonia.
