The DCaS-R project develops a federated data space for the circular traceability of materials and waste in the construction sector.
The initiative promotes the digitalization and sustainability of the sector through the creation of a Digital Waste Passport (DWP), aligned with European standards EPCIS 2.0, GS1 and IFC. This infrastructure enables the secure and standardized exchange of real data from construction sites, waste managers and recovery operators, integrating automatic sustainability indicators such as carbon footprint, life cycle analysis, and material recovery.
We have developed a federated data space that promotes the circular traceability of materials and waste in construction through a Digital Waste Passport aligned with European standards. Through Blockchain technology, semantic ontologies, EDC connectors and an interoperable data infrastructure based on European standards such as EPCIS 2.0, GS1 and IFC, all integrated within an i2CAT sandbox environment.
