Hybrid Working Group Conference of CREC – Waste Cluster of Catalonia.

In this session we will bring together the coordinators of CREC working groups to give us a presentation of each group, a review of the work done so far and to define the next steps for 2025.

The CREC Working Groups are a space for joint cooperation between partners focused on addressing the challenges of the waste sector. They are currently the following:

-GT Traceability
-GT Efficient collection systems
–GT New recovery routes. Divided into subgroups that respond to the waste flows of: biowaste, complex waste and plastics, textiles, critical raw materials and batteries.

The working groups are a backbone of the Cluster and a mechanism to stimulate projects and initiatives, which is why we encourage all Cluster partners to be active members and participate in this conference.

📍Hybrid session. It can be followed in person at the Barcelona Social Hub or online.

Visit to Aena: Discover How Waste Is Managed at Barcelona Airport

The Catalonia Waste Cluster (CREC) is organising an exclusive visit for its member companies and organisations to Aena’s facilities at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into how waste is managed within an airport infrastructure of this scale. During the visit, participants will learn about the management processes for different waste streams, as well as the main challenges and opportunities in this environment in terms of waste collection, treatment and recovery. The activity will also provide an opportunity for CREC members to share knowledge and experiences, explore a real-life waste management case study and identify insights that can help drive more efficient and circular solutions across the sector. On-site activity exclusively for CREC member companies and organisations. Limited places available.

Session of the Circular Construction Working Group dedicated to the digital materials bank, featuring project presentations, experience sharing and discussion on the opportunities digitalisation offers to drive circularity in the construction sector.

On **28 and 29 October**, CREC will take part in the **3rd Catalonia Circular Congress**, an event to share experiences, build connections and continue moving towards a more circular economy. Throughout both days, **you will find us at the CREC stand**. In addition, on **29 October, we will lead our own session** to highlight the strategic role of the waste management sector:
