Today, we introduce…

  • Name and role in the company

My name is Sara Nadal, and I am the Director and Consultant at ARUM Environmental Consulting. I lead the company’s strategy and projects in sustainability, waste management, and the circular economy, working on initiatives in both the public and private sectors.

  • Brief description of the company and its activities

At ARUM, we support companies and local authorities in designing and implementing more efficient and circular waste management models. Our work focuses on:

    • Planning services and efficient collection models (including fair pricing/PAYT), diagnostics, and continuous improvement.
    • Awareness-raising and communication initiatives to support the improvement or transition of collection systems.
    • Circular economy projects (prevention, reuse, and valorization) and support for ISO 14001, EMAS, and other environmental certifications.
    • ARUMLEX, our digital process for identifying, assessing, and monitoring environmental legal requirements, fully integrated into our clients’ day-to-day operations.
  • Current challenges and needs
    • Implementing PAYT and efficient collection models supported by traceability and data (RFID/IoT) to reduce contamination rates and measure results.
    • Promoting collaborative prevention and valorization projects aligned with circular economy principles.
    • Training and cultural change: empowering technical and operational teams to ensure the success and long-term sustainability of new approaches.
    • Anticipating regulatory changes by adapting processes to new legislation and reporting requirements.
    • Scaling ARUMLEX, our platform designed to automate environmental and sustainability legal compliance for companies and public administrations.
  • Motivation for joining the cluster and the type of synergies sought

We joined the cluster to collaborate across the entire waste value chain and accelerate projects with a real impact in Catalonia.

We aim to create synergies, share knowledge, and build partnerships with CREC members to accelerate the transition towards more efficient and sustainable models.

Thank you for being part of CREC!

The Cluster’s concept is excellent, both because of its working groups and the networking opportunities it provides. We had been looking for an active, rather than passive, association for quite some time. We want to connect with people who face challenges, are eager to collaborate, and have an open-minded approach to business relations

The Catalonia Waste Cluster (CREC) has formalised a collaboration agreement with ESIC Business & Marketing School to establish a stable framework for cooperation in strategic areas including talent development, education and training, knowledge transfer, and business growth within the waste management sector.
