Guide for the Management of Social License

📅 Friday, 10 July 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
📍 Auditorium of the Generalitat of Catalonia Administrative District (Barcelona)

The ecological transition requires not only technological solutions and appropriate regulatory frameworks, but also the support and involvement of society. To reflect on this challenge, the Catalan bioenergy, energy efficiency, and waste management clusters are organizing the event “Social License in Ecological Transition Projects”, a forum for discussion and exchange of experiences on the relationship between public policies, sustainability projects, and social acceptance.

The session will bring together representatives from public administration and sectors linked to the energy and environmental transition in a first panel discussion focused on the role of social license in the implementation of public policies. Participants will include Rosa Altisent, Director General for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food; Anna Camp, Director of the ICAEN; and Albert Planell, Director of the Catalan Waste Agency.

During the event, the Guide for the Management of Social License in Ecological Transition Projects will also be presented. The guide has been developed with the participation of ARC Environmental Mediation and the organizing clusters. It is intended to serve as a practical tool to facilitate communication, participation, and trust-building among project developers, public administrations, and local communities.

The event will conclude with a second panel discussion dedicated to successful examples of obtaining a social license, where participants will share experiences and best practices applicable to bioenergy projects, energy efficiency initiatives, circular economy projects, and other sustainability-related endeavors.

An opportunity to learn about tools, experiences, and strategies that can help advance ecological transition projects with greater social acceptance and community engagement.

Free registration. Limited seating available.
