Closing event – Intercluster: Weaving synergies to promote the circular economy
The SINTEC project – Intersectoral Synergies for the Circular Economy – is led by four Catalan clusters: CREC – Waste Cluster, Advanced Materials Cluster, Tèxtils.Cat, and the Packaging Cluster.
The aim of the project is to study the circularity of waste from the technical textile industry, especially those with a high polymer content, for reuse in new materials for the packaging sector. Advanced textile waste presents a growing environmental impact due to its difficulty to recycle, the use of toxic substances, and low reuse rates. This challenge has been addressed in previous initiatives, but the SINTEC project introduces an innovative approach: intersectoral collaboration between four clusters to maximise resource efficiency and generate unprecedented industrial symbiosis models.
This session marks the closing of the SINTEC project. After an initial phase of challenge identification in May and a second session focused on defining business models, this final event will present the conclusions and collaboration opportunities identified throughout the process.
