The Clúster de Residus de Catalunya (CREC) joins the partner network of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), one of the leading international events focused on urban innovation and the development of more sustainable, smart and circular cities.
This collaboration represents a new opportunity for CREC to raise the visibility of the waste management and circular economy sector, while fostering connections between companies, institutions and innovation stakeholders working to transform urban environments.
The Smart City Expo World Congress, which will take place from 3 to 5 November 2026 at Fira de Barcelona, will bring together representatives from cities, businesses, public administrations and organisations from around the world to share knowledge, experiences and innovative solutions to the main urban challenges.
Driving the circular economy in the cities of the future
Efficient waste management, resource recovery and the implementation of circular models are key elements in building more sustainable and resilient cities.
In this context, CREC’s participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress partner network will help highlight the strategic role of the waste management sector in urban transformation, while showcasing the capabilities, technologies and innovative solutions developed by the companies and organisations that are part of the cluster.
This partnership will also help create new opportunities for networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange with other stakeholders across the national and international ecosystem.
At CREC, we remain committed to strengthening the competitiveness of the sector, fostering innovation and positioning the circular economy as one of the fundamental pillars of sustainable urban development.
