1st Waste Cluster Tech Day – Eurecat

On 4 June, we held the first Cluster Tech Day, an enriching day of knowledge transfer where we got to know EURECAT’S innovative solutions for the management and recovery of complex and textile waste and on the value chain of batteries.

On 4 June, we held the first Cluster Tech Day<. It was a very enriching day of knowledge transfer where we discovered some of the innovative solutions on which EURECAT is working for the management and recovery of complex and textile waste and on the value chain of batteries.

We visited the installations of the Eurecat centre in Manresa, getting to know first-hand the different tools and research there are working on for the waste sector and we heard a series of talks on specific waste streams:

BLOCK I: The recovery of complex waste:

  • Pyrolysis and gasification for the recovery of complex waste: Waste to X _Victor Ortíz
  • Strategies for the recovery of water and minimisation of complex effluents _ Andrea Navas

BLOCK III: The recovery of textile waste:

  • Recovery of textile waste and sustainable threads _ <Francesc Mañosa
  • Recent advances in the advanced recycling of textile waste _ Luis Ángel Martínez

BLOCK IV: The value chain of batteries:

  • Innovations for the circularity of batteries _ Albert Martínez
  • Design of sustainable materials through the recovery of waste and replacement of CRM _ Montse Vilaseca
  • Traceability through blockchain: battery Passport _ Aleix Vila

Many thanks to everyone for coming and particularly to Eurecat for inviting us to their installations and for sharing their knowledge.

We are beginning to prepare the next Tech Day, watch this space!

The Bioenergy Cluster of Catalonia (CBC), the Catalonia Efficient Energy Cluster (CEEC) and the Waste Cluster of Catalonia (CREC) have jointly developed the project *Managing Social Licence and the Territorial Integration of Ecological Transition Projects in Catalonia*, an initiative that culminated on 10 July with the presentation of the *Guide to Managing Social Licence and the Territorial Integration of Ecological Transition Projects in Catalonia*.

As part of the project *Managing Social Licence and the Territorial Integration of Ecological Transition Projects in Catalonia*, we spoke with Carles Salesa from CADEVA, a company with extensive experience in the management of environmental infrastructure and waste-related services. Drawing on his extensive expertise, he shares a clear message: the trust of local communities is not built overnight—it is earned through dialogue, transparency and close engagement.
