{"id":8232,"date":"2026-07-01T09:08:54","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T07:08:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crec.cat\/projecte\/verdeinmed-prevention-and-reduction-of-textile-waste-accumulation-in-the-mediterranean-region\/"},"modified":"2026-09-24T13:50:48","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T11:50:48","slug":"verdeinmed-prevention-and-reduction-of-textile-waste-accumulation-in-the-mediterranean-region","status":"publish","type":"projecte","link":"https:\/\/www.crec.cat\/en\/projecte\/verdeinmed-prevention-and-reduction-of-textile-waste-accumulation-in-the-mediterranean-region\/","title":{"rendered":"VerdeInMED \u2013 Prevention and Reduction of Textile Waste Accumulation in the Mediterranean Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>VERDEinMED<\/strong> project (<em>PreVEnting and ReDucing the tExtiles waste mountain in the MED area<\/em>) is entering a new <strong>transfer phase<\/strong> within the framework of the <strong>Interreg Euro-MED Programme<\/strong>, following the development and testing of solutions during the previous phase of the project.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of this new phase is to <strong>transfer, adapt and facilitate the adoption of the Support Service developed by VERDEinMED<\/strong> in new Mediterranean territories and organisations, strengthening the capacities of stakeholders involved in the transition towards a circular economy in the textile sector.<\/p>\n<p>The Support Service is a solution designed to support companies, SMEs, start-ups, technology centres, consumers and policymakers in adopting more circular practices and developing policies based on evidence and local needs.<\/p>\n<p>During this phase, the project will focus particularly on three areas of transfer: <strong>policy and governance, operational capacity and market readiness<\/strong>, adapting the solution to the specific characteristics and needs of each recipient territory.<\/p>\n<p>One area of particular interest will be <strong>Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the textile sector<\/strong>, which will serve as a use case to analyse and demonstrate how the Support Service can be adapted to different regulatory and territorial frameworks.<\/p>\n<h2>The role of CREC<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Cl\u00faster de Residus de Catalunya (CREC)<\/strong> participates in VERDEinMED as a <strong>receiver partner<\/strong> of the solution and plays a particularly relevant role in its transfer and adaptation to Catalonia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VERDEinMED drives the transition towards a more circular textile sector by transferring already tested solutions to new Mediterranean territories.
