Over two days, companies, professionals and experts shared knowledge, experiences and challenges with a common goal: moving forward together towards a more circular and sustainable economy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"442\" data-end=\"698\">Organised by the Waste Cluster of Catalonia (CREC), this new event represents a step forward for the cluster with the creation of the nowWaste brand, which frames its Strategic Immersion and aims to establish itself as the sector\u2019s annual flagship event.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"853\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The event took place on 29 and 30 October in Montbri\u00f3 del Camp and was sponsored by Alier, Molins, Recupera \u2014from the Catalan Recovery Guild\u2014 and RETEMA.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"853\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"nowWaste 2025 - De Residu a Recurs: Immersi\u00f3 Estrat\u00e8gica del CREC\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MJUZOh9kSl4?feature=oembed\" width=\"614\" height=\"345\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"149\"><strong data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"149\">A space for collaboration, knowledge and innovation to boost the sector\u2019s competitiveness in Catalonia<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"368\">Under the motto <em data-start=\"167\" data-end=\"193\">\u201cFrom waste to resource\u201d<\/em>, nowWaste has established itself as a space for collaboration, knowledge and inspiration, where key issues for the sector\u2019s competitiveness and sustainability were addressed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"694\">The first day included presentations and hands-on workshops on compliance, sector communication (to enhance the sector\u2019s visibility and reputation) and the identification of shared challenges, with contributions from experts such as V\u00edctor J. Mart\u00edn (Mart\u00edn &amp; Par\u00e9s Abogados), Spora, Laura Talens (ICTA) and Alfons Cornella.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"1206\">Throughout the event, dialogue and reflection were fostered around the strategic role of the waste sector in the circular economy. A highlight was the institutional roundtable featuring Albert Planell, Director of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, and Margarita Ruiz Saiz-Aja, Deputy Director-General for Waste at MITERD, who emphasised the importance of collaboration between institutions. \u201cEco-design is vital to reduce the overall impact of products and improve their recyclability,\u201d stated Ms. Margarita Ruiz.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1496\">Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Puerta Angulo, winner of the 2024 NASA Lunar Recycle Challenge, shared her personal experience, illustrating how artificial intelligence is transforming the field and opening a world of opportunities where data\u2014combined with effort and perseverance\u2014can make a real difference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1498\" data-end=\"1983\">The event also featured the Circular Talks, discussions on circular economy models and practices, showcasing success stories such as luminaire eco-design (ECOLUM \u2013 CARANDINI), equipment reuse (Formaci\u00f3n y Trabajo \u2013 Pened\u00e8s-Garraf Commonwealth \u2013 FCC Medioambiente), and textile and container recycling (MANGO \u2013 COLEO \u2013 ROS ROCA \u2013 TIRGI).
